Education Ministry has suspended the order that directed all public and private universities to admit students based on their SSC and HSC grades, on Thursday, a day after it was issued.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid made the suspension order on Thursday afternoon, said a ministry official.
Assistant Personal Secretary of the minister Monmoth Ranjan Baroi said: “The honourable minister has suspended the order in the afternoon.”
However, he could not provide any detailed information regarding the suspension order.
Earlier on Wednesday, the education ministry ordered all public and private universities to admit students based only on their SSC and HSC grades.
The directive was sent to all universities across the country.
As per the directive, the initiative was taken to cut down on the expenses and to ease the harassment of admission seekers in admission tests at public universities.
