Body to probe train-covered van collision

A three-member probe committee has been formed to investigate the train-covered van collision near container terminal of Kamalapur Railway Station that left six people dead.

Railway Minister Mujibul Haque made the announcement while visiting the accident spot on Monday afternoon.

The three-member committee led by Divisional Transport Officer Nazmul Islam has been asked to submit a report within three days, said the minister.

The two other members of the team are-- Divisional Engineer 1 Mohiouddin Arif and Divisional Mechanical Engineer (Loco) Sadiqur Rahman.

The accident took place around 1pm when a Dhaka-bound train from Narayanganj derailed after a covered van hit at Kamalapur.
