Two pedestrians have been killed and another has been injured as a recklessly driven passenger bus ran them over in the capital’s Merul Badda area on Friday evening.
One of the deceased was identified as Md Saiful Islam.
Officer-in-charge of Badda police station MA Jalil said a bus of Suprovat Paribahan ran over the three pedestrians at Merul
Badda around 6pm, killing two on the spot and injuring the other.
“The Sadarghat-bound killer bus was seized by the locals although its driver ran away leaving his vehicle”, he said.
Later, the injured pedestrian was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital while the bodies were sent to the hospital morgue.
The OC said they were trying to identify the victims.
