Lakshmipur district unit of BNP called a half day hartal in the district for Saturday demanding local BNP leader Omar Faruk be traced.
Lakshmipur district BNP announced the program through a press release issued on Friday.
Omar Faruk, UP chairman of Hazaipara and organising secretary of Sadar Pubra Upazila, went missing from Tuesday.
This morning, Omar’s family members in a press conference urged the government to trace him.
His wife Parveen said some people claiming to be officials of Detective Branch of police arrested him from his relative’s house in Patenga.
However, when contacted with Patenga police station and Rapid Action Battalion 7, nobody admitted his arrest.
