Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel recovered eight petrol bombs and nine crude bombs near the Geneva Camp in the capital’s Mohammadur area on Thursday night.
Additional Superintendent of Police Raihanuddin Khan, also the operation officer of RAB 2, said: “Acting on a tip-off, RAB members recovered the petrol bombs and crude bombs from inside the wall of a house on Babar Road adjacent to the Geneva Camp."
"The bombs were recovered as part of our continuous drives against criminals and to combat crimes,” he added.
The criminals managed to flee the scene after sensing the presence of RAB, the official said.
In previous months, police and RAB personnel, in separate drives, recovered a large quantity of bombs and explosives at Geneva Camp while three members of a gang were arrested.
