Locals go on rampage over Jihad's death

The locals of Shahjahanpur area went on a rampage on Saturday afternoon, immediately after Jihad was declared dead.

The four-year-old boy was found dead inside the 600-ft well around 3pm, 15 minutes after the rescue operation was declared suspended.

Following the death, angry locals swooped on the establishments set up by the construction firm and vandalised some tin-shade rooms.

They also expressed anger citing that the rescue operation has been delayed as different government bodies gave contradictory opinions and suggestions over the issue.

Locals recovered Jihad from the Shahjhanpur Railway Coloney well at around 3pm. They claimed that Jihad was already dead when he was brought out.

Jihad's body was found and brought soon after the fire service chief declared that the rescue effort was suspended. 

Jihad fell into the 600-ft deep pipe at Shahjahanpur Railway Colony area while playing with his friends at around 3.30pm on Friday.
