Customs Intelligence officials have detained a person with 30 gold bars at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong.
The detainee could not be identified immediately.
Assistant Commissioner of Chittagong customs Selim Reza said: “The detainee landed at the airport on a Biman Bangladesh flight around 10am on Wednesday.”
“He left behind his luggage and was trying to cross the immigration. On suspicion, we checked the bag and recovered the gold bars weighing 3.85kg,” he said.
The official said the gold bars are Tk1.5 crore.
