Bangladesh Premier Football League champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will take on South Korean top-flight club Busan IPark in a friendly at Bangabandhu National Stadium this Saturday at 5pm.
The fixture and arrival date of the K-League side was confirmed by the Bangladesh Football Federation yesterday following Busan’s positive response last Thursday night to play against the Dhanmondi-based club.
Korea Football Association (KFA) president Chung Mong-gyu will travel with the former AFC Champions League winners and watch the match from the stadium. Busan will arrive in Dhaka this Thursday and leave a day after the friendly.
“Busan IPark sent a letter yesterday (Thursday) night confirming their desire to play against Sheikh Jamal on December 27 and asked us to reply with the detailed schedule. They will arrive on December 25, play the friendly on December 27. The KFA president will also come and watch the match,” said BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag yesterday.
Busan earlier expressed their interest to play a friendly match on Bangladeshi soil asking if the national side or any premier league club are interested. King’s Cup champions Sheikh Jamal subsequently confirmed their interest in the following days.
