War crimes convict Mobarak Hossain has appealed to the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court against the death sentence handed down to him by the International Crimes Tribunal.
Mobarak's lawyer Joynal Abedin Tuhin filed the petition on Thursday afternoon.
Mobarak's another lawyer Tariqul Islam cofirmed about the petition to the Dhaka Tribune.
The defence sought to argue 77 points in its 82-page petition. They also submitted 780 pages of documents regarding the case.
Mobarak Hossain, former Awami League leader from Brahmanbaria has been sentenced to death for committing crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War on November 24.
