OC dies during clash in Sylhet

A police official has died of heart attack during a clash between police and drivers-workers of auto-rickshaw at Goalbazar of Sylhet.

The police official is Mostafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Osmaninagar police station of Sylhet.

Khairul Bashar, emergency medical officer of Sylhet Medical College Hospital, confirmed about the death to the Dhaka Tribune.

The chase and counter chase incident took place between police and auto-rickshaw workers began at Goalabazar on Wednesday afternoon, said Naimul Hasan, additional superintendant of police of Sylhet.

During the clash, the OC fell sick and he was taken to the hospital where the doctors declared him dead, Naimul said.

Quoting doctors, Naimul said: “The OC died of a heart attack.”
