20 killed in Taliban attack at Pakistan school

At least 20 people have been killed and others taken hostage in a Taliban assault on an army-run school in Peshawar in Pakistan, officials say.

Five or six militants wearing security uniforms entered the school, local officials told the media. Gunfire and explosions have been heard in the area.

Four of a family slaughtered in Mymensingh

Miscreants have slaughtered a Sramik Dal leader and three other members of his family at Labankati village of Bhaluka upazila in Mymensingh early Tuesday.

The deceased are Harirbari union Sramik Dal general secretary Rafikul Islam Bacchu, 35, his wife Parul Aktar, 27, two daughters Jinia, 7, and Tinia, 3.

President, PM pay homage to martyrs

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Liberation War by placing wreath at the National Memorial marking the 44th Victory Day.

6 killed in Habiganj road accident

Six persons have been killed in a collision among four vehicles in Sutang area on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Habiganj.

At least 10 other people have also been injured in the collision among a truck, a jeep, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a tractor.
