Khoka charged with sedition

Police have submitted charge sheet against BNP leader Sadeque Hossain Khoka in a sedition case filed for provoking party member to indulge in violent activities.

Paltan police station Office-in-Charge Tofail Ahmed, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet to Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Monday afternoon.

The court fixed December 14 to decide regarding the acceptance of the charge sheet.

Paltan police station Sub-Inspector Khairul Mohammad Shohidullah Prodhan filed the case against Khoka on December 7 last year for provoking party men to go for violence during a rally.

On November 11 last year, nine people were burned when a human hauler was set on fire near Victoria Park in Old Dhaka.

Then, Khoka called upon all BNP supporters to come down to streets armed with machetes and axes in a party programme, the Paltan sedition case said.
