A local leader of the ruling Awami League has been hacked to death by miscreants at his house in sadar upazila.
Deceased Nasir Hawlader, 42, was also a member of Motherbunia union parishad.
Officer-in-charge of Sadar police station Ziaul Haque said miscreants swooped into the house of the UP member around 6:30pm and chopped him indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.
The reason behind the killing is yet to be known.
