Azizur Rahman’s 23rd death anniversary today

The 23rd death anniversary of eminent politician, language hero and an organiser of the 1971 Liberation War Azizur Rahman is being observed today.

To mark the day, his family members have arranged special prayers both in the capital and his birthplace Dinajpur.

Azizur was born on November 1, 1920, in a respected family in Mohammadpur village under Dinajpur district. 

He joined politics inspired by his father Moulana Akimuddin Sarker who was involved with anti-British movements.

The civil affairs adviser of sector 6 (half) and 7 was one of the close affiliates of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and was involved in the drafting of the 1972 constitution.
