With a vibrant and monumental celebration, the Cocacola-Channel i Bandfest 2014 was held on the premises of Channel i office in the capital’s Tejgaon area on Monday.
Twenty bands, old and new, performed at the event, including Uchcharon, Different Touch, Obscure, Prometheus, Ark, Bay of Bengal, Teerondaz, Chirkutt, Dolchut, Black, Artcell, LRB, Shunno, Radio Active, Parthibo and Joler Gaan.
Before the day-long concert commenced, a one-minute silence was observed in memory of recently passed artist Qayyum Chowdhury. The late band musicians of the country were commemorated as well. The show started with a new song on Azam Khan, written and performed by Aiyub Bachchu.
Speaking during the inauguration, Faridur Reza Sagar, managing director of Channel i, said: “This event will continue its journey every year on December1 at the same venue.”
However, Following his performance, Aiyub Bachchu addressed the organisers and said: “The Cocacola-Channel i Bandfest should be bigger next year, and held in a bigger venue, so that more people can join the celebration.”
