Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has left Dhaka for Kuala Lumpur on a three-day official visit to Malaysia at the invitation of her Malaysian counterpart Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak.
A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the prime minister and members of her entourage took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:15am, BSS reported.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hussain Bhuiyan, the chiefs of the three services, the dean of the diplomatic corps and high civil and military officials were present at the airport to see the prime minister off.
The flight is scheduled to reach Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at 4pm (Malaysian time).
At the airport, the prime minister will be given Static Guard of Honour.
Sheikh Hasina will meet the Bangladesh community members at Hotel Grand Hyatt on Tuesday evening.
On Wednesday, the premier will attend a dialogue on Investment and Trade Opportunities in Bangladesh at Grand Hyatt Ball Room. Business leaders of Bangladesh and Malaysia will join the meeting.
She is scheduled to return home on Thursday.
