Every Muslim intending to perform Hajj next year must complete registration online.
“The Bangladesh government introduced the system in keeping with the regulations and guidelines of Saudi Arabia Hajj authority,” said Religious Affairs Minister Motiur Rahman at a meeting at the secretariat yesterday.
He said the Hajj packages would be confirmed by December 8 and Hajj fees would have to be submitted between December 15, 2014 and January 30, 2015.
The minister hoped that the online registration system would do away with the hassle and corruption in the sector.
This year 98,605 Muslims had performed Hajj from the country.
