Tangail 4 murder: Jahangir gives confessional statement

Jahangir Alam, the prime accused of a case filed for killing of a woman and her three daughters in Tangail, has given his confessional statement before a district court on Thursday.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Sahadat Hossain recorded Jahangir's confessional statement under section 164 on Thursday after he was produced before his court.

Later, he was sent to the jail, said Saleh Mohammed Tanvir Superintendent of Tangail Police (SP).

Earlier on November 22, Jahangir was arrested by Mirzapur police from his house.

Later, he was admitted to Tangail Medical College Hospital as he was ill.

On October 7, a ninth-grader Monira was burnt to death along with her mother and two sisters as she refused to marry Jahangir, an expatriate living in Singapore also her neighbour.

The incident took place at South Sohagpara village in Mirzapur after miscreants set their house ablaze while they were asleep.

A case was filed against 10 people over the incident on the same day.

Jahangir Hossain, 25, son of Bahar Uddin was made the prime accused in the case.

On October 11, police announced a Tk100,000 bounty to capture the prime accused Jahangir in the killing case
