Prosecution satisfied with Mobarak verdict

The prosecution has expressed their satisfaction with the tribunal verdict that sentenced expelled Awami League leader Mobarak Hossain to death for committing crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War.

Prosecutor Advocate Shahidul Rahman expressed his satisfation in his instant reaction after the announcement of the verdict.

“He has been awarded death sentence in a charge, lifetime imprisonment in another and was acquitted in the rest," he said.

Giving his reactions regarding the aquittal, he said: “We are satisfied with the death sentence, lifetime imprisonment awarded to him by the tribunal in two charges.”

“We can only give our opinion regarding the charges he has been acquitted once we get the copy of the full verdict,” he said.
