Bangladeshi Save the Children worker awarded with Global Child Service Award

Bangladeshi Save the Children worker Aziza Begum was awarded with the Global Child Service Award at the 2nd Annual Illumination Gala organised by Save the Children at the Plaza hotel of New York city on Wednesday.

She was recognised for her contribution to neonate’s survival in her community in Ajmiriganj upazila of Habiganj. She works for MaMoni HSS project under Save the Children International.

Save the Children organised the event with a view to give more children a stronger start in life by preventing maternal, newborn and child deaths and supporting early childhood education.

The event was held hosted by Save the Children Artist Ambassador and Trustee Jennifer Garner. 

At the event, Ben Affleck was honoured with the Global Child Advocate Award, Tony Blair with Global Legacy Award, Austin Hearst with US National Humanitarian Award.

Other guests include Phillips-Van Heusen CEO Carolyn Miles, Save the Children President and CEO Anne Mulcahy, Chair of the Board of Trustees, Save the Children Xerox and Save the Children Action Network President Mark Shriver.
