Jubo Dal President Moazzem Hossain Alal, has been freed on bail on Friday, 21 days after his arrest in a case of hartal violence.
Jailer Amzad Hossain Don of Kashimpur Jail1 said Alal walked out of jail around 11:30am.
“The jail authority received the documents related to his bail at 9pm on Thursday and he was set free on Friday morning.”
On November 17, the High Court granted one-year bail to Alal and five other Jubo Dal members in a case filed on charge of planning to carry out subversive activities during hartal on October 26.
On October 30, police conducted a raid on Alal’s Lalmatia residence in the capital and arrested 63 BNP members, including Alal.
Mohammadpur police on the day lodged a case against the arrestees under the Special Powers Act.
Later, he was sent to Kashimpur Jail 1 on October 31.
