A navy ship has arrived at the Chittagong port on Tuesday evening with the 625 detainees who were caught near the Saint Martin Island while being trafficked to Malaysia on Monday.
The navy officials confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
The navy barge anchored at the jetty No. 15 of the port around 7pm.
Regarding the detainment, a press briefing will be held soon, the officials said.
Bangladesh Navy on Monday afternoon detained 625 people from a fishing trawler off the St Martin’s Island as they were travelling to Malaysia illegally.
