Debolina Sur’s debut album released

Singer Debolina Sur’s debut solo album titled “Jol Phoring” was released on Friday. Released under the label Agnibina, the album consists of seven modern songs, six of which were written and composed by the singer herself. The other song was written by Sumon Saha and composed by Emon Saha.

The track list includes “Tomar kotha bhebey bhebey,” “O jol phoring tor byasto din,” “Icchegulo aj melechhe dana,” “Bhalo achhi bhalo theko,” and “Probhater snigdhota.”

Talking about the album, Debolina said: “It is expected of me to release an album on Tagore songs, as I have an academic degree on Rabindra Sangeet from Visva-Bharati University. But I thought with an album of modern songs, I would be able to reach a wider audience. That is why I worked on an album of modern songs, which blend with other genres such as classical, jazz and soft melody. Some of the tracks have been influenced by folk music too. But I do want to bring out an album on Tagore songs in future.”

Earlier, Debolina was playback singer for a song titled “Priyo tomar kisher obhiman” in the film “Brihonnola,” which came out in September.
