A Rana Plaza victim named Kuhinur Islam Kajol, 45, died of his injuries on Tuesday night after fighting the life for about 19 months.
Kajol’s wife Saleha Begum claimed that her husband, a resident of Sharifbag area in Dhamrai, cardiac complications had developed after being injured in the collapse that took place on April 24 last year and he finally died at National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases and Hospital in the capital.
Earlier, Kajol rescued on the second day of the collapse had been hospitalised at a stretch at Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed, Savar and later referred to the capital when his condition deteriorated more.
The victim’s wife also stated that Kajol used to work as operator at a garment factory on the third floor of the building and he sustained severe pressure on the whole body, particularly on the chest, in the disaster.
On the other hand, Saleha alleged that she just received Tk10,000 from the government and Tk50,000 from different charity organisations to bear the treatment cost of her husband.
