The police have arrested three Bangladeshi students, who recently completed their education in India, from Lakshmidari border of Bhomra landport in Satkhira.
They are Abdur Rahim, 27 and Mahmud Hossain, 21, students of Shahrampur Madrasa in Delhi, and Yeasin Ali, who completed his education at an English college in Delhi, India. All the arrestees hailed from Hathazari upazila of Chittagong.
Satkhira Sadar police station Sub-Inspector Abdul Momen said: “The border police have held them on Tuesday night while they were returning home illegally through the Lakshmidari border.”
“They have stayed in India without any legal documents, completed their education and returning home illegally. The police is enquiring whether they have any connection with militants.”
