A sub-inspector of Mirsarai police station in Chittagong has been killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Nizampur of Mirsarai upazila early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Masud.
Sergeant Mehedi Hasan of Joranganj highway police outpost said Masud was standing in front of a stationed truck at Nizampur around 3:30am. Another truck hit the stationed truck, leaving Masud dead on the spot.
Police seized the trucks. However, the drivers of both truck managed to flee.
Preparation of filling a case in this connection was underway as of 10:30am.
