Charm of Korea

As a part of the cultural exchange programmes between Korea and Bangladesh, a two-day concert “Charm of Korea V” was organised by Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Dhaka.

The concert was performed by a Korean band Coreyah, a musical group comprising six musicians.

On November 6, the concert was inaugurated at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and the following day it successfully finished at the Ambassador’s Residence.

The musician group performed a variety of beautiful folk songs with a contemporary style. The songs features work, love and beauty.

The highlight of the concert was a Bangla song performed by the musicians “Ami Banglay Gann Gai” sung by the Korean artists. The musician received storm of applauds warm receptions when audience’s standing ovation. 

Coreyah is a Korean folklore music ensemble. Rooted in Korean traditional music, Coreyah combines different ethnic musical styles such as African, Brazillian, and Mid-eastern and modern styles such as jazz and rock.

Lee Yun-young, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Bangladesh said that, through the success of these music events, two countries could become much closer by the power of culture, further boosting our bilateral friendship, also the concert provided a good opportunity for Bangladesh people to taste and enjoy the performance of the international music.

This was the sixth music event since last year to celebrate the friendship between Korea and Bangladesh.
