Mahakal Natya Sampraday will stage “Prometheus” at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy at 5:oopm today. The production is a part of 30 years founding anniversary celebration of Natyajatra. The troupe has organised a six day long theatre festival under the title of “Natyajatra Trish Bocchor.” Twelve acclaimed productions will be staged at the festival till November 14.
The “Prometheus” was written by Anan Zaman based on the Greek tragic drama “Prometheus Bound” by Aeschylus. Mostafizur Noor Emran will instruct the drama.
The play begins on a barren wasteland of Scythia. Three gods—Hephaestus, power, and violence—are leading a fourth—Prometheus, who is their prisoner. Hephaestus chains Prometheus to a rock.
