A woman has committed suicide after killing her eight-month-old son following a family feud at Sayeedtula village of Sadar union under Sarail upazila in Brahmanbaria.
The deceased are Bina Akhter,27, wife of Saudi expatriate Milon Miah, and their eight-month-old son Shamim.
Locals said Bina, daughter of Mohharram Ali, had a long-standing dispute with her in-laws.
Recently, she left her in-laws' house and started living with her parents.
On Thursday, out of frustration, Bina killed her son and committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan, said Bina's relatives.
Before committing suicide, she also tried to kill her sever-years-old daughter Samia.
Hearing Samia’s scream locals rush to the spot and rescued her from the room while they found Bina and her son dead.
Officer-in-Charge of Sarail police station Ali Arshad said: “We have recovered the dead bodies and sent those to the Sadar hospital.
No case has been filed in this connection till Thursday evening.
