2 Fake FF certificate holder secretaries quit

Two secretaries, who fraudulently obtained freedom-fighter certificates, have gone on voluntary retirement on Thursday. They are AKM Amir Hossain, secretary for Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) and Health Secretary M Niazuddin Miah. M Niazuddin Miah submitted his resignation to Public Administration Ministry's Senior Secretary Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury on Thursday morning, while Amir Hossain in the afternoon. Amir Hossain, in his resignation letter, said: “I am discharging my duties as a service holder since last 25 years and now I do not want to continue further.” The health secretary told UNB that he sent a resignation letter to the secretary of Public Administration Ministry on Thursday morning showing personal reason. He also said he was to be in service till December 31 this year. They are among the four senior bureaucrats whose freedom fighter certificates had been cancelled on September 22. Two other public officials, who lost their freedom fighter certificates, are former secretary of Liberation War Affairs Ministry KH Masud Siddiqui and Joint Secretary of the ministry Abul Kashem Talukdar, current an OSD. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) found guilty on receiving the freedom fighter's certificates of the four officials and former senior secretary to the prime minister's office and existing Privatisation Commission Chairman Molla Waheduzzaman. On September 22, the ministry cancelled the freedom fighter certificates of the four government high-ups, by issuing a gazette notification. The ministry also withheld the certificate of Privatisation Commission Chairman Molla Waheduzzaman, who is also a former senior secretary to the prime minister’s office. Later, the officials were served show-cause notices on October 13 to reply within 10 working days after receiving the notices. Though the issuing date of the notices expired on October 23, October 25 was fixed as the last date of submission of the answers as the accused officials received the notices on October 15. On October 27, three out of four senior officials of the civil administration have finally replied to the show-cause notices issued by the public administration ministry regarding involvement with taking freedom fighter's (FF) certificates from the liberation war affairs ministry by providing false information.
