A man has been killed and two others have been injured in a clash between two groups of workers in Baraigram upazila of Natore district.
The deceased is Shakib, son of Ramzan Ali of Gormati village.
Injured Saifuddin and Sumon have been admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).
Manirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Baraigram police station, said: “A group of workers went into Rashid Auto Rice Mill to work early Tuesday. Later, another group of workers drove them out of the rice mill.”
“At one stage, they locked into a fierce clash with lethal and sharp weapons, leaving three workers injured,” he said.
Sakib died on the way while being shifted to RMCH from Baraigram Upazila Health Complex.
On information, police rushed to the spot and fired five rounds of tear shells and 20 rounds of bullets to disperse the trouble mongers as they started gathering again to fight.
Basudev Banik, superintendent of police of Natore, said additional police forces have been deployed to the spot.
