Four children of a joint family have sustained burn injuries during the nationwide power collapse on Saturday night at Dhobaroi village in Amin Bazar area of Savar, on the outskirts of the capital city Dhaka.
The victims are Zara, 4, daughter of Zahid, Sara, 6, daughter of Selim, Zihad, son of Obaidur, and Rakib, 12, son of Adob Ali of the village.
The victims' relative, Sayem Sarker and Firoz said the children were playing at the ground floor around 7:45pm.
At one stage, when they entered into the washroom with candles, a blast took place, injuring them.
Immediate after the accident, relatives of the victims admitted them to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar.
On duty doctor of the hospital, Dr Nazim Uddin said: "Poisonous gas produced in the washroom came into contact with fire and burnt those four children. About 30 to 40% of their body were burnt."
"However, they are now out of danger," he added.
