State Minister for Power Nasrul Hamid said the country was no longer reeling with the unusual deficiency in power supply.
The minister made the statement while briefing the media regarding Saturday's power supply disruption on Sunday morning.
He said: “The country is now not reeling with the deficiency in power supply. We need some 4000MW electricity and the process of meeting the goal is underway. The power supply situation is expected to be normal within a short time.”
“We are gratefull to the almighty that none of our electricity plants are affected. We have successfully managed to get the electricity supply back to normal condition,” he added.
An unusual power outage took over the entire country as the national grid collapsed two times since 11:30am on Saturday.
Power supply was being restored partially across the country from 2:50pm. However, the national grid collapsed again at 4:30pm.
The outage was triggered by the excessive electricity supply from India.
