A woman and her daughter have been killed in a road accident at the Nawab Salimullah road of Missionpara area in Narayanganj City.
The deceased are Shirin Begum, 28, wife of businessman Golam Sarwar of the city, and her daughter Joyeta, 8.
Elder daughter of the deceased Arpita, 11, and rickshaw-puller were also injured in the accident.
The three were on a rickshaw when a speedy wheat-laden truck ran them over from behind, BSS reported.
Soon after the accident, locals caught the truck and set it on fire before police reached the spot.
The injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with serious injuries.
Police, however, arrested the helper of the truck.
A case was lodged with the police station concerned in this connection.
