Dhaka Power Distribution Company Ltd (DPDC) signed a contract with EnergyPac Engineering Ltd to set up three high-powered transformers to ensure smooth power supply in Siddhirganj and Khanpur and other areas in Narayanganj.
Accordingly, the power engineering company will install two transformers at the Khanpur power substation and the other in Siddhirganj.
This would reduce systems loss and necessary voltage would be ensured to about 50 thousand consumers in the areas. Five thousand new connections would also be given.
DPDC Superintending Engineer ASM Mahmudul Hoque and EnergyPac General Manager SM Aminul Hoque signed the agreement in DPDC office yesterday.
“The DPDC is going to implement the project at a cost of Tk12.83 crore to minimise the systems loss to free our consumers from the power hassle,” said Brig Gen Md Nazrul Hasan (Rtd), DPDC’s managing director.
