Miscreants have attacked the house of Bangladesh Cricket Board director Sheikh Sohel, also the son of prime minister’s cousin, at Sher-e-Bangla road in Khulna town.
Miscreants fired five rounds of bullets targeting his house around 11:15pm on Wednesday.
Sonadanga police station Officer-in-Charge Maruf Ahmed said: “Miscreants started firing when Sheikh Sohel’s private car was entering in the house. One round of fresh bullet was recovered from the spot. ”
Khulna Juba League Joint Convener Hafez Muhammad Shahim said: “Five masked men riding in a motorbike fired aiming Sohel’s car. One bullet hit at the meeting room on the ground floor of the house.”
“I left my car near Royalmor area and sent it to home. This kind of incident did not happen earlier,” said Sheikh Sohel.
Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner Nibash Chandra, Assistant Police Commissioner (West) Abdul Mannan, Sonadanga zone Commissioner Amzad Hossain among others visited the spot.
