The Popular Life Insurance Inter-District Volleyball comprising 14 district teams will get underway at Paltan Volleyball Stadium from November 5.
The tournament was scheduled to start today but due to the countrywide strike called by the Jamaat-e-Islami it was deferred for five days. All the leading female spikers of the country are expected to participate in the tournament.
In a press conference held at the volleyball federation office yesterday, Syeda Jannat Ara, the additional superintendent of Dhaka Metropolitan Police and the chairman of the tournament committee presented the event to the press. Volleyball federation general secretary Ashikur Rahman Miku and BM Yusuf Ali, the managing director of Popular Insurance Limited were also present on the occasion.
