The Internet professionals are going to hold a conference on November 14, first of its kind in the country.

A social media organisation named Bangladesh Internet Professionals Community (BIPC) will organise the day-long conference at Mahanagar Natto Mahcha in the city.

Information and communication technology (ICT) experts will attend the event and share their experiences to the professionals who earn through providing Internet-related services.

BIPC said a series of sessions on networking, learning, fun and entertainment, sharing ideas, women empowerment and so on will be held at the conference.

More than 1,000 Internet professionals will participate in the conference to offer their services through Internet while different social media groups on Facebook and other platforms will also play their roles.

“We have a vision of organising the conference every year to bring all Internet activists who mainly work for marketplaces to a same platform,” Mobarak Hossain, a member of the BIPC, told the Dhaka Tribune over phone recently.

He said senior officials of the government’s ICT division along with IT service businessmen and experts are expected to attend and address the conference.

An online registration for the participants is required to attend the event, the organiser said. The interested professionals can log on at http://bipcconference.com to get registered on “first-come, first-served” basis.

The BIPC staff have already been divided into several groups and zones to accomplish the registration works which will cost each participant Tk300.

The organisation said in Bangladesh there are around seven lakh Internet professionals working currently.
