Admission test results of both public and private medical colleges for academic session 2014-15 will be published today. More than 69 students appeared for the test which was held on Friday.
“The results will be published at 12 noon on Sunday (today),” Dr Deen Mohd Noorul Huq, director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), said yesterday.
Several high officials said the results of the students who have scored required mark for admission in the public medical colleges might be published today.
They reasoned that two-thirds of the students who attended the admission tests have been able to score pass marks – 40 out of 100 – in the test.
However, it could not be officially confirmed as DGHS Director General Noorul refrained from talking about it.
“It is confidential. You will get necessary information tomorrow (today),” he said smilingly.
Meanwhile, a few office-bearers of Bangladesh Private Medical College Association (BPMCA) sat in a meeting with Health Minister Mohammed Nasim yesterday.
BPMCA officials had requested the minister not to publish the results of both public and private medical colleges simultaneously in case only two-thirds students have scored pass marks, sources said.
Public and private medical and dental colleges have a total of 9,623 seats, with 3,708 at 28 public medical colleges and nine dental colleges.
The exam was held at 35 centres of 22 public medical colleges and one dental college.
