Hanif Paribahan is responsible for raising death toll of Natore fatal road accident as a bus of the organisation ran over the injured passengers lying on the road.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader came up with the statement while disclosing the report on Thursday submitted by a three-member probe committee regarding the road accident in the district.
A total of 36 people were killed and 44 injured in Natore road accident on Monday.
Quoting the report, Obaidul said: “The death toll increased massively because a bus of Hanif Paribahan ran over the injured passengers who were lying on the road after the collision between two buses of Keya and Othoi Paribahans.”
He said: “The driver of Keya Paribahan drove the bus speedily and recklessly without keeping in mind the speed of the vehicles coming from the opposite direction.”
“The accident took place when the driver tried to overtake a truck,” he added.
Obaidul said the licence providers should be careful during issuing licence and laws should be implemented strictly against those who do not have proper papers to ply vehicles on the road.
