Four people of a family have been killed as a truck rammed into an auto-rickshaw near Jamaldi bus stand area under Gazaria upazila in Munshiganj.
The deceased are Kajli Begum, her daughter Fulmoti, 22, Ayesha, 4 and her grandson Maruf, 3. They hailed from Madarganj of Jamalpur.
Quoting the locals, Voberchar Highway Police Surgent Saiful Islam said: “A cement-laden truck rammed the auto-rickshaw carrying the women and children as the driver lost his control over its steering around 12:45 on Wednesday, leaving the passengers dead on the spot.”
On information, police went to spot and trying to recover the bodies, he added.
