Bangladesh has been elected as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council for the period 2015-2017.
A release issued by Foreign Ministry, said the election was held on Tuesday in New York, reports BSS.
Bangladesh contested with India, Indonesia, Thailand and Qatar in the election for one of the four posts kept aside for the Asia Pacific Region.
Bangladesh bagged 149 votes to their favour.
