Bangladesh will get 100 megawatt of electricity from Paltana power plant of Tripura soon, Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pankaj Sharan has said.
The Indian envoy made the disclosure while talking to reporters after visiting Ashuganj International River Port and the Asram of Sri Sri Anandamayi in Kheora village under Mehari union of Brahmanbaria on Tuesday.
“Both the neighbouring countries have better relations and we will solve the ongoing disputes by holding bilateral talks.”
“I hope that transit facilities will be introduced soon. For this, importance of Banglabandha land port in Bangladesh will more be increased," Pankaj said.
Ashuganj Container Terminal will be constructed within a short time with the finance of India, he added.
While talking on visa issues, he said Indian visa application process is not easier but the consideration of introducing easy process in applying for Indian visa is in progress.
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) directors Shafiqul Huq and Mohammad Hossain, Ashuganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sandwip Kumar Sinha were, among others, present during the visit.
