Kishoreganj District Road Transport Workers’ Union has called off its indefinite bus strike in the district.
Kanchan Mia, general secretary of the organisation, confirmed this to the Dhaka Tribune on Tuesday.
“We have withdrawn our strike as the administration met our demand,” Kanchan said.
A meeting, in this regard, was held in the deputy commissioner’s office at 5:30pm.
DC SM Alam assured us of plying the bus on the route, he said.
Earlier, an indefinite strike was enforced centering a conflict between the owners and workers.
A bus was purchased with due permission of the Bus Owners' Association of the district to run it on the Bhairab and Mymensingh route, Kanchon Mia said.
He claimed that they compelled to call the strike as the owners' association cut off the route of the bus.
