Members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) have picked up two Bangladeshi youths from Dabri border point in Haripur upazila.
The victims were identified as Enamul, 25, son of Nurul Islam, and Hasan, 18, son of Ismail, both residents of Kathaldangi village of the same upazila.They have been handed over to the Indian police.
Quoting locals, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) sources said a patrol team of BSF 121 from Phulbari camp in India caught the duo near pillar no 367 of the border point around 7:30pm on Sunday.
Confirming the incident, Major Touhid, acting commander of BGB Battalion 30, said they had sent a letter to BSF for holding a flag meeting to bring back the two Bangladeshis.
He said: "We have little to do regarding the matter as the BSF handed the Bangladeshis to the Indian police."
