The candidates finally selected for different vacant posts of Bangladesh Gas Fields Company Limited yesterday gheraoed its main office in Brahmanbaria demanding their appointments immediately.
They also held a protest rally in front of the office at Birasa area in the district town around 7:15am, leading to the closure of Bangladesh Gas Fields School and College for the day.
Protesters Rafiqul Islam, Zubair Ahmed, Saddam Hossain and Hira Lal Debnath who spoke at the rally said they had not been being issued their appointment letters even after their pre-employment medical tests were done long ago.
They added that the authorities were not apparently taking serious note of the High Court order stating that all the finally selected peopple be appointed within six months,as four months had already gone by since the order was issued on June 23.
The written test for the filling-up of 143 posts in four categories was held on April 8, 2011 and then in the same year as many people were finally selected and their pre-medical checks-up were also done.
