Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have seized 40,000 pieces of yaba tablets from sluice gate area of Teknaf upazila in Cox's Bazar.
BGB personnel, in a drive, recovered the tablets early Sunday.
Commanding Officer of BGB 42 Lieutenant Colonel Abu Jar Al Zahid said: “A team of BGB members recovered the yaba tablets wrapped in nets in an abandoned condition at sluice gate no 5 area around 5am.”
The BGB official said sensing the presence of the patrolling team the smugglers managed to escape.
The tablets are worth around Tk1.50 crore, he added.
