Inspiration: A photography exhibition

As part of the Spanish Week 2014 celebrations, the Embassy of Spain has organised an exhibition titled “Inspiration” at the Drik Gallery. The exhibition will remain open until October 22.

“Inspiration” is the outcome of a photography competition that took place from August 27 to September 20. Enormous positive response was seen from photo enthusiasts of all age.  From 4000 submitted photographs 57 photographs have been selected finally.

Luis Tejada Chacon, the of Spanish ambassador to Bangladesh, Patrick Sandoval, deputy head of the Mission Embassy of Spain, Shahidul Alam, the managing director of Drik were present in the inauguration along with the photographers whose work have been chosen for the exhibition, and other guests.

The programme selected and awarded the best three photos of and launched a photo-book that contained all exhibited photographs.

Ashis Das's photograph “Friendship Forever” which depicted an old mother and her daughter was selected as the best photo. Kumar Bishwajit won the second prize for his photograph “The light within” that showed underprivileged children trying to study at a night school under a flashlight. The third prize went to “Turtles can fly,” photographed by Kaisar Ahamed, the photo is a snapshot of a group of boys playing football in a muddy field.
