At least five people have been killed and six others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck at Gharinda on Tangail bypass road of the district.
Of the deceased two were identified as Moti Mia, 55, and Nur Hossain Manik, 35. Both of them hailed from Kurigram.
Ellenga highway police outpost Surgeant Kamruzzaman Raj said: “A Bhorungamari-bound passenger bus collided head-on on with a truck at Gharinda around 4:45am on Friday, killing three people on the spot.”
“Two of the injured succumbed to their injuries when taken to Tangail Medical College Hospital in a critical condition,” he said.
