Local administration has imposed section 144 in Gojadia union under Karimganj upazila in Kishoreganj, as Awami League and its front organisation called separate meetings in the venue and time.
Apprehending possible violence, the local administration imposed a ban on holding any gathering in and around the venue from Thursday morning till indefinite period.
Karimganj police station Officer-in-Charge Md Abul Hossain said: “Upazila Awami League Convener Nasirul Islam Khan Awlad called a meeting at Gojadia Abdul Hekim High School ground on Thursday morning.”
“Meanwhile, district Sramik League President ABM Sirajul Islam called another meeting in the same venue at the same time,” he said.
